Well i will go back to the start,
In January this year i tried purchasing something using my paypal account costing £24, I misstakenly tried to do this with my RBS account, when it was my LLOYDS account that infact had the money in it.
RBS let the transaction go through (even tho i have no overdraft) then reversed the transaction a few days later, giving me a neggative paypal ballance. I realised what happened and payed the £24 into my paypal account to sort that out. Then got a letter from the bank saying i would be charged £6 a day for a returned item fee which is fair enough i did make the mistake. So i went and paid off the fees which had incurred and enquired at the branch if that was everything up to date and ok with my account to which i was told yes.
Then a month or so later i recive a letter saying i had been charged £30 odds for the unaranged overdraft and because there was no money in the account i would now be charged £6 a day for a returned item, and another £30odds next month.
So i phoned them and told them i was told my account was up to date and had no clue about these charges comming out or i would have made sure i had money in the account. And to cut a long story short was told well its my account its my fault pay up.
I have since been reciving letters saying its now minus around £150 and numerous phone calls everyday.
I just want to get it sorted before it gets any worse and close my account with them. I just want to know if i should bother with trying to claim them back? I am currently unemployed and have barely enough money to live on so im pretty sure i would qualify for hardship. After reading the stickys on here.
Thanks for the advice Chris.

Any one any ideas of what i should do? If i am going to have to pay them i would rather get this done sooner rather than later, as the ammount will just keep rising daily. Im sorry if im comming across dumb or simple its just when it comes to this kind of stuff im really out of my depth.0

Your charges are applied monthly so if there have been any 'offences' say in April you will be charged in May. If you are not flush in your account your charges will themselves incur charges and so it goes on.
Speak to them about possible refund if this is your first 'offence'. Just explain the difficulties you are having and they should offer some sort of help even if it's not necessarily a refund.
You really do need to understand how it all works so ask them.
Also, it is very important to check your balances regularly. I don't do on line or phone banking, I get mini statements weekly (and sometimes more) just to be sure I'm not spending money I haven't got. Incidentally I didn't know you could have two different accounts connected to your paypal account, I only had one but then that's me.0 -
Thanks little Mo, I got in contact with them and total charges where £250 +. They agreed to take off all charges if i give a payment with £60 the next day. So just done that.0
