Cooling off period. Company say they dont offer it?

Hi,

I went to caraudiosecurity at the weekend and brought a few bits from them in their sale.

I would now like to return two of the items as they arnt needed. I phoned them up and asked about the cooling off period to be told that they do not offer refunds on sale items just credit notes.

They then said it is noted at the bottom of something. I didnt sign anything on the day.

As they have apparently put somewhere that they dont offer a refund period do i loose the right to the 7 day cooling off period full refund?

Many thanks

What makes you think there is a cooling off period. Once you have bought something, you have bought it. They could just as easily say 'tough'

It's only at the discretion of the company whether you can return anything unless of course something is wrong with it. If they are offering you a credit note I would grab it with both hands.

    What was it you bought,
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Was it bought online or in store?

Sounds like he "bought" them in store. So no "cooling off" period.

There is no cooling off period for things you buy yourself in a shop. You have to make a decision for yourself at the time.
Some shops off to accept returns but this is in addition to your statutory rights.
Your statutory rights will only come into play if the item is faulty or not up to standard in some way - They dont cover a change of mind or accidentally buying the wrong thing.
