Hi All
I have a credit card with HSBC that doesnt appear on any credit report (Equifax, Experian, Call Credit) . Any ideas why this would be, is it a legal agreement?
Thanks
Mark
ps . June06 - Present
reduced debts from £53936 to £15810

There is no legal requirement for cards to be listed on CRAs and therefore if it does or doesnt appear has no impact on the legality of the agreement.
I used to have 2 cards issued by Santander, one used to appear the other didnt. No idea why0 -
Thanks Inside
How would they report a default, if there is no record?
(there is no default , just curious)
Thanks

I know that, in Ireland, some cards report everything and others ONLY report defaults. Perhaps it's the same in the UK.0

My guess is either they are reporting it but there is something slightly erroneous in the data so it isnt linking up to your record so simply a default wouldnt change that. Alternatively it could be there is some error on their system that prevents it coming out on the monthly batch job that generates the file that gets set to the CRA and again, its unlikely the addition of a default would fix it.0 -
UK card providers voluntarily share all customer records they legally can. However, some older agreements, typically opened pre-2000, only included agreement to share default data. If this explains your missing data - check with the bank, they will confirm - you can ask the bank to start sharing your data now.

It wouldnt explain my previously "missing" card as it was only opened in 2010 (and closed in 2011)0

Don't be quick to try to get unreported cards or current accounts reported routinely. It can be useful to have credit available that isn't reported via CRAs. And the opposite.0 -
Well I have a Cahoot credit card and is shown on my credit report closed in 2009. However I am still using the card and is shown active on my Cahoot site. Queried it with Cahoot and said sorry we are unable to amend the credit report and will remain closed.
So obviously if this is the case they will have difficulty reporting any missed payments.0 -
My RBS one has never been on there, was opened mid 90s mind, so maybe falls into the category mention by James.:beer:0
