Pips Criteria

Hi all, I am sure I have seen a link on here for the criteria for when DLA changes to PIPS, could someone point me in the right direction to find this please? Many thanks

To get the Standard rate you need to score 8 points and to get the Enhanced rate you need 12 points.

It's a while away but this worries me too, heaven help us if ATOS is doing the assessments...

With no money at present I avoided the taxi I might've got to a neighbouring town to register Mum's death, the bus was uncomfortable, I was stiff when reached my destination(no jokes please)had difficulty walking and took ages I'm almost 55 and you'd have thought I was 93.

I took ages to reach the bus stop from my home and the same coming home. I really struggled. I went to bed soon after coming home...and I nearly passed out twice.

But these assessments are less than fair...there are far too many stories for it not to be so...

I am likely to wait for someone to help me if walking/standing or need to use a taxi to drop me exactly or as near to where I need to be...or I might just to say manage to go to the post office, need to go to another part of town but I'll go home and come back out another day.

No doubt they'd try to fail me.

I have had to hold onto something when attempting to put socks and shoes on or trousers and now that I am alone, I have fallen over before and had fun getting up. And even with a walking stick it takes a lot of strength to get back onto my feet and that usually require me to use my arms to get up. I use my arms a lot. I cannot ask for help from Mum anymore so what can you do?

Would they do home visits if needed? Im still not convinced that this will go ahead and if it does, its gonna take years to set up.

I really hope ATOS aren't going to get the contract as they've caused so many problems so far with lying, manipulation, not checking proper medical evidence etc and thinking they know more in 15 minutes than my GP and 8 other consultants I see all the time do? Just crazy IMO.

Is there anything we can sign to express our worries about this?

Im off to bed as Ive taken my Zopiclone and pain killers and I may not be making much sense.

If the DWP or have any sense they will look back at the farsical ESA asssessments performed by ATOS and not let them near PIP assessments, surely from the amount of appeals they have recieved and complaints, they will realise that ATOS are just useless and wont use them.

Thanks for the links, I am dreading it when it comes to the medicals as my sons conditions are rare and we had enough trouble getting DLA.

I notice that some of the definitions have changed for PIP, for example "bathe" means wash your head, arms and torso (what about legs and feet don't you wash them?).

And also "cooking", with DLA it's about cooking whatever you would normally have as a main meal. With PIP it's about heating a meal. So does that mean if you're able to put a ready meal in the microwave they would class you as able to cook?

My husband can't manage to cook a normal main meal without assistance but he can put a ready meal in the microwave, so would that mean he's able to "cook" according to PIP?

Nope, you aren't expected to wash your legs or feet and yes, a 'ping' ready meal is healthy. Apparently...

I'll be in the same boat of having problems, just not the ones which they will be looking at, therefore I would not require PIP and the Daily Mail will write about how much I've screwed the system over and am faking an illness.
