Two totally different shoes!!!!! Please help!

I purchased a pair of shoes that cost me £100 yesterday only to get home and find out there were two totally different shoes in the box! One I wanted, one I didn't! I know I can take them back and sort the problem but am I entitled to money off or compensation for my inconvenience?

  • Didn't you look at the shoes before buying them?

I don't think there's any entitlement to compensation but they shop may be willing to offer something as a goodwill gesture if you're nice about the way you approach them.
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!
  • that doesn't make sense. Why cant you return them? The shop have the other half of the pair you have and wont be able to sell them. Its likely the assistant made the mistake anyway.

I agree with browneyedbazzi,go back and be sure to be polite ask for the manager then show them their error adding the inconvenience of having to come back should warrant a gesture of goodwill.goodluck be sure to come back and let us know how you got on.
  • Thanks for the help guys. I automatically assumed they were checked as they were being bagged up whilst I was still browsing. As this was I high end store I didn't think anything of this kind would ever happen. I will exchange them today. Just annoying I have to pay petrol and parking and take a few hours out of my sunday

when we were busy it was quite possible to put wrong shoes in the bag this is why we always wanted customers to take the box so we could wrap each shoe individually and get rid of our rubbish:D
i also insisted every shoe sale had the soles to soles put together by sales assistant because of the amount of people who try to get away with odd sized shoes because they had odd sized feet
im sure shop will be very apologetic and give you a free tin of polish

The OP isn't asking whether they can return them but how much compo they can screw out of the retailer for this honest mistake.

A mistake which has left the OP financially out of pocket. Why should they pay for someone elses mistake?

I'm pretty sure the OP will likely go back into town for some other reason over the coming weeks, their choice to go in today specifically for this, it's not really that of a big deal.
