Receipt Query

Hi
I paid for an item in full on my credit card a couple of months back, I can't find my cc statement at the moment and don't want to pay a fee to get another but I have been contacted by the shop to say that half of the amount paid was refunded to my credit card.

I've got no record of this refund and my receipt says "paid in full" - what do I do? Can they hassle me for the extra half payment even when I've got no record/receipt re the refund.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

What reason are they giving for the refund?
And are they now asking for the money back again?

If you have a receipt which says you paid in full for the item I think (but I'm guessing) the onus is on THEM to prove they refunded you.

Do you have access to online statements (or could you register?)

    Thanks
I did have access to online statements but all my passwords and everything were lost when my laptop decided to die on me one day around 3/4 weeks ago and I'm only just back online (yesterday) so I haven't had chance to sort them all out yet.

They have given no reason for the refund, just that it was refunded and they are now saying my payment wasn't made in full and want the money grrrr.

So you phone the bank or when you get online you check your statement.. if they have accidentally refunded you then you offer them the payment again.

    Problem solved.

Well ASK them why they CLAIM they have refunded you. And why you were refunded.

If they have made a mistake they should be asking you NICELY, very very nicely in fact, to pay again...

they would be asking ME very nicely to pay again;)

You can probably go into your branch (I know I can with LLTSB, anyway) and tthey can pull the card statement up there and then on screen and tell you for certain.
