depends on where you are flying from!
if its from within the uk most airlines require a form of photo id, ie drivers licence or passport.
best to check with the airline you intend to fly with

Check the airline as for internal UK flights they set the rules not the government0

Go with it as i have taken an internal flight before (in another contry) and it stated in the T&C that i needed to bring a passport though i was with my GF and only I was checked! So its better to be safe than sorry.
If you want to make sure just read the T&C's but if you have one just take it!0
