hello
I am new here. my husband and i have suddenly realised that we desperately need to start atching our finances so here we are!
![:D :D](https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
my husband has had his statement today and whilst he doesnt usually check them
he has today and noticed that he has paidd £96 this month alone in personal reserve fee. He isnt completely sure what that is but we are guessing its because he went over his overdraft?
Is there anyway that these can be reclaimed/ reduced? as we really cant afford to be paying that?
we have a consolidation loan on its way to pay off some of his overdraft wihin the next week would this give us any leaway?
anyhelp would be so appreicated as we are completely new to ths!

If your husband sees transactions on his statement that he doesn't recognise or understand, he really should contact the bank to discuiss these.
Unless the bank knows there is a problem, they can't even begin to help.
If the charges have been appropriately levied, then unless youre husband understands them and why they have been charged, then he has little chance of minimising them.
Who advised you to borrow money to pay off an existing debt?
(It's not necessaerily the wrong thing to do, but it scares me that he has followed this route yet doesn't appear to understand the basics such as where his current money is going and why).
I would suggest you post your SoA on the DFW (Debt Free Wannabe) board and see what help you could get from there"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100
