RBS Platinum card, presently at the start of a 0% promo offer.

Does anyone know if it is possible to change the statement date on this account?

It's OH card so he would need to phone to ask but I'm sat here balancing the books whilst he's at work and it occurred to me it would be better for our budget if it could be brought forward by around 2 weeks.

Just wondered if RBS entertained change of date requests or not?

I've done this on our 2 cards with them, they did it instantly over the phone after confirming security stuff with the telephone banking team. Unless there's something specific about the Platinum card (we don't have that) I honestly can't see it being a problem.

Has it not occurred to you that putting it back 2 weeks would be better still? ;)

It did, but I had assumed they would have less of an issue with the request if we brought it forward. :)

It wont make too much of a difference to us to have to pay 2 statements close to each other.

I'm not sure what RBS's policy is on 0% end dates, but if it's the nth statement after opening (as MBNA et al are) then putting it back instead of forward gets you another month of 0%.

    Make sense? :)
