- guarnateed/reviewable premiums.
- GIO as you have also mentioned can be very useful.
- What else is included in the policy - Friends life and Ageas have best Doctors, Bright Grey have helping hand etc...basically extra useful things can you get for your money, will your family get the emotional and financial support in the event of a payout?
- Does the policy need to go in trust.
- Do you get a dedicated claims handler? Again this goes back to what comes with the policy, your family arnt going to want to be speaking to 10 different people to find out where a claim is upto.
My opinion is that its worth seeing a Mortgage or financial advisor, they will help with what you should be looking for, they should also be there to speak to and help in the event of a claim - again a little more support when your family might need it. But its entirely optional.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Read Martin's life insurance article under the Insurance section. Its full of great info. I went with one of his recommended firms Cavendish Online, and got over £150k extra cover for the same as my original premium.
I'd highly recommend going with one of these operators who are totally up front about their commission.0
