I am struggling to find information about kitchen suppliers / fitters in the (north) Manchester area, and when I do stumble across a website I am then at a loss to work out which are reputable and which should be avoided! Any suggestions / recommendations? Thanks.

We went to Kitchens of Pride in Swinton and they were generally pretty good. The only complaints I would have is the cost of the fitting jumped up by a 1/3 between what I was initially told and when I confirmed I wanted a fitter, after being let down by my builder. Also being a small independent they arent the most IT savy so our plan was hand drawn which I didnt find as intuitive as the 3D cad drawings the chains gave us.
Having said all that the fitter was very good and they were very helpful and patient when we kept on changing our minds!0 -
Check out this thread for a few to avoid.
All (allegedly) connected to Vance Miller.
A few are known to operate in the north west and I'm sure Manchester wouldn't be out of their reach.0 -

I wouldn't accept a hand drawn design. It does sound suspiciously like one of the rogue firms as already mentioned.0 -

To be fair, that sounds like they'd just dashed it off, but it was a very detailed plan view layout and they did have a lot of thankyou cards and references (I know they could have written them themselves but they looked kosher to me:p). I just think they're of a certain age where new technology has passed them by. I also had several 3D layouts from the chains and everything was more or less the same so it wasnt a deal breaker.
I also googled them and didnt find any negative reviews. I also checked out their company director details just to be on the safe side and checked they were an official Omega supplier. Having got my butt burned by a cowboy builder Ive learnt my lesson and now check everything in triplicate - much to the annoyance of my family!
It all worked out fine and they were nothing like one of the Vance Miller outfits - which I may have visited in our never ending kitchen quest (what looked like a bouncers retirement home in a dodgy mill in Dukenfield).0 -
Many thanks for the advice, info and suggestions. It's good to get good advice sometimes.0
