Yorkshire Bank - Basic & Standard Current Account

This might be useful for some of you...
I have a poor credit history, mainly historic debt (1 CCJ & 3 defaults from 2003) and have had an RBS Step Account for the past few years.
All my credit accounts have been well kept for around 2 years now.
Having recently been declined for a full account with 1 or 2 high street banks I read the thread on here about basic bank accounts and decided to enquire about the Yorkshire Bank Readycash Account as it comes with a switch/maestro card.
I booked my appointment with my local YB and popped in for an hour, I took my ID, POA etc and answered the normal questions and the Personal Banker there asked if I'd like to be scored for a full account.
She explained that if I was declined for a full account then they would open the Readycash account for me.
Turns out that I met their criteria and I have a full current account plus being opened on Monday.
To say I was pleasently surprised would be an understatement.
So for all those struggling to open a full interest paying account with debit card, cheque book etc it may be worth a trip to Yorkshire Bank.
Worst case scenario they'll still open you a Readycash account with a debit card.
