Despite reading articles about mobile phones i am still muddled. What would be best?
I need a mobile - probably a 'granny in the glove box' as Martin describes , just for emergencies. My husband needs a mobile as he is a self employed gardener and customers call. Teenage daughter would like a mobile and will probabaly end up text messaging. We are going to go for Pay As You Go. Is it best to be on same network ? I'd be grateful for ANY advice as it's a maze to me. Thank you.

3. Yes, usually it is better to have PAYG phones on the same network. I think at the moment you should make a choice between Easymomile and Fresh (not taking cost of the phone itself into account)0 -
hi
just to add to the above consider virgin as their phones are quite cheap and customer service is very good
http://www.virginmobile.com/mobile/Honesty is the best policy doesn't matter which web site
you are on!
if i had known then what i know now!
a bargain is only a bargain if you really need it!0 -
I would second that. Virgin is very good.
Texting between Virgin mobiles only cost 3p and the calls are quite reasonable.
The Virgin online site is very good for phones and you can pick them up very reasonably. You can even go for reconditioned phones and pick up a bargain. there are some cute little flip phones if that is what your daughter is into. My daughter has got a Motorola v220 which is a colour screen camera phone and loves it.
They come with a sim card with credit on it and if you order online you usually get a top up voucher included.
Their delivery is next day, they even deliver on Sunday's and the customer service has always been good when I have needed it.Its better to be late in this life than early in the next one.

Hi Ima,
I recently moved to easyMobile and I am very satisfied. I also considered Fresh and Virgin but choose easyMobile. I don't that many calls but didn't want Virgin as their tariff for calls to other than Virgin mobiles are 35p. Fresh is currently slightly cheaper compared to easy but their conditions for topping up is a bit dodgy and the price only holds up under very specific use of calls (you have to top up with 10£ and then they give you 20£ of "free" calls but you have to use them within a month).
I like easy better as I am free to top up with an amount of my own choosing, and their customer service is very good.
My old phone works fine so I didn't need a new one. If you do, you might consider Virgin or Fresh, but personally I prefer to buy my phone without strings attached.
