in Credit cards
In 2004 I got a credit card with Barclaycard. In 2005 lmanaged to pay it off completely. A few months after l had paid the card off, lchanged addresses and l forgot to inform Barclaycard of my new address. Thereason being that l had paid off the card and l did not need anymore. Barclaycard/Lowell advised me that they kepton writing to my old address.
I received the shock of my life last year in November when lreceived a letter from Lovell debt collectors. Lovell debt collectors weredemanding money on behalf of Barclaycard. They claimed that l had not paid Barclaycardin full. The unfortunate thing is that all the receipts for the payments l hadmade l had destroyed them. Hence l did not have proof that l paid the card infull. Lowell keep calling me and demanding their money. I did ask forstatements to show that l had made the full payment but both Barclaycard and Lowellwere unable to provide the statements. From the top of my head, the credit limit thatl had was £200 but they are now demanding more than a thousand pounds. Theyclaim that most of it is interest that was charged over the years.
It has been more than six years now since l paid themoff. I am afraid that this might spoilmy credit file. Can Lowell on behalf of Barclaycard apply for a CCJ or adefault on my account though it has been more than six years? Shall l try and make payment arrangements orshall l take it further?

don't admit to the debt. It sounds as though it is statute barred. Someone will post a link shortly. Sorry I would but at work and using a mobile device.0
