New Vacuum - which one?

Hi,
we need a new vacuum - the one we have is on it's last legs.
we have a mixture of wooden floors, lino floors and carpet. We also have stairs so need an attachment to clear the stairs.
the oh doesn't want a cylinder as in the past these have given her backache.
Would prefer bagless with good filters.
What should I be on the look out for? And what sort of budget should I be looking at?
Cheers

Last year I bought myself a new vacuum & as I'd been really pleased with my previous Vax I decided to go for one of their's again. I've got a mixture of wooden & tiled floors plus carpet & like you have stairs. I've also got a cat so one that could cope very well with pet hair was important. So I decided to go with this one http://www.vax.co.uk/vacuum-cleaners/air-pet-upright
It's one of the lightest & most powerful vacs on the market & I'm really pleased with it. I love the stretchy hose that reaches from the bottom of the stairs to the top & the turbo tool is a great addition.
Sometimes Vax have really good special offers on their website, but I ended up buying mine from Ebay as it worked out about £90 cheaper. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
