SIG Energy Management via Eon - advice needed

After calling Eon (our gas/elect supplier) to arrange free cavity wall insulation (relevant benefits received) they have passed the work onto SIG Energy Management, who called and arranged an appointment to survey, but after reading the horrendous reviews here I don't want that company in the house & will cancell.

What certification etc should I be checking for to make sure these companies/people are fully trained and have no history/outstanding watchdog type cases for harassing customers. (Scotland relevant).
I thought going via my energy supplier would be the safest way but clearly not.
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
