Acoustic Roll Rip-off

I bought 2 rolls of 25mm acoustic roll today. A total of 48m2.
It cost £112!
I am supposed to be using it inbetween my studs. Very tempted to do away with this and use loft roll instead. You can get the equivilant coverage for £18! The loft roll is 100mm thick and should compress nicely into the cavity.
Is anyone aware of the acoustic properties of loft insulation? Its the B&Q Kanuf gear.
I can't envisage how a 25mm thick bat held up between the studs, will be better than a compressed 100mm (4 times thickness) thick loft roll! I'm using soundblock plasterboard both sides as well

This is the gear, cant find a PDF0 -
it's all about density baby.
the aucstic lining will be very heavy and very dense which is needed to absorb the soundwaves.
Loft insulation won't do !!!!!! allAs is a tale, so is life: not how long it is, but how good it is, is what matters.0 -
it depends on the sort of noise you are trying to supress , i've you're playing iron maiden at full blast then top quality accoutic soundproofing will be just the ticket , if you're just listening to test match special then you might get away with insuation0

I'm skeptical. How come my stud walls are spec'd as having soundblock plasterboard on both sides with 25mm acoustic roll, then on ceilings I have normal plasterboard and no acoustic roll. Sound may travel differently but still feels like a bit of a box ticking exercise!0
