Any Electricians out there?

Hi
Whilst i was back in the UK in Jan, my electrician installed earthing straps to my rads etc, since then the main Earthing Breaker switch keeps tripping, i've unplugged everything that i can, turned off all the fuses and its still tripping, sometimes its ok for 3-4 hours other times it trips after 3-4 mins.

İ have been told that of an evening the voltage drops off here(but ive not noticed lights etc dimming). The electrician has been back in and says he has carried out a continuity/Polarity test and the wiring is fine. Any ideas?.

The only items 'wired in' are; fridge, Emersion heater,Dishwasher and washing machine(all are less than a year old)

Thanks

Get him to check the operation of the RCD if he is a competant electrician he should have e special meter to check the correct tripping operation of the RCD it could be just a faulty RCD even if the supply drops of an evening the rcd should not trip under low volts as it measures the flow of current to earth it is not an under volt trip that is something completely different. It could be a faulty appliance as the ones you have mentioned but it will be trial and error to isolate which one it is (if any)
  • you may have an outside light that is full of water

    or
it may be a cumulative effect- small earth fault on fridge, small fault on something else.

it could also be an extension - the cable may be getting squished under a bed leg :D
    baldly going on...
