Multi purpose laddres......

Are multi purpose ladders safe? They look like the right type of ladder for my needs but I'm wondering how safe they are.

Any alternatives? Any recommendation is much appreciated.

Iv'e used these before and haven't had any problems. They are all required to meet Eurpoean standards but don't take too much notice of "Easter Sales" ,like most companies they are always having sales on.The next one will be the "Late Spring Sale" or "Early summer sale"...:D

To be fair their products are decent quality and fair prices..

Safe for what? Sex? Accessing a 4th floor window?

Really, they are only safe for what they are designed for.

I have two sets of ladders - one multifunction folding type, and the usual twin ladder for higher reaches.
The folding ones are useful in that you can fold them right up, bring them inside easily, put them in the car etc etc
As long as they are to EU standards and you make sure they lock into position then they are great.
We do use the platform position as, with a scaffold board, you can make a platform for working off for low levels like hedge trimming.
Otherwise we generally use them as highly portable stepladders, or a short reach normal ladder.
    Pretty versatile and useful.

With any sort of folding ladder you need to be absolutely sure that the ladder is properly latched. I made the mistake of not checking one of the latches on my folding ladder and it folded up while I was on it. Luckily, I did not fall far, but the ladder folded up and slid down the wall, tearing out my internet cable in the process. I felt a right idiot as it was entirely my own fault for not checking the latches before I used it.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

I can second that - I've had the same thing happen with mine, so have learned to be conscientious about visually checking the latches every time I use it...
