Looking for a long term caravan pitch in Devon

Hello, I've tried doing some research but am running out of time so I wondered if MSEs could help me?

We need to site an (old) caravan and awning on a pitch from now until the end of the summer season. It belongs to a church and is for families to use who would otherwise not be able to afford a holiday.

It must be close to a train station or on an easy bus route from the train station and ideally have facilities and possibly activities. However, the funding is not a great amount, so a small, friendly site is probably what we're looking for. A nearby beach would be a fantastic bonus!

If you do recommend any, I could do with being able to look at a website or at least be able to obtain a brochure etc to check it out.

Thanking you all in advance.

    Have a look here.

I believe popular sites can be difficult to get a seasonal pitch, and there can be a waiting list.

TBH Greenface, I'm not sure! That is where the Vicar has asked me to look for a site.

If you can personally recommend another area that fits the bill, I'm happy to have a look at it and put it forward.

Devon is a very difficult place with transport links in general (not always)and if its getting used by your local families where are you and your parish from ? I have a place at the far end of Wales and about 90 miles from our house .If i gave it to a family on low income for a week i would still be conscious that it would cost a family of 2+2 about £120 on trains and buses to get there. Coastal Devon isnt too bad but coastal Somerset & Dorset are easier to reach and less spread out. I love devon as its vast and open but i drive .big point.

Thank you Greenface, as a car owner the cost of trains hadn't occurred to me I'm ashamed to admit. We're up in South Staffordshire. I think I better double check what I was asked to look for!

Warwickshire or Derbyshire . Shropshire or Cheshire . A family wont get to the coast from Staffs cheaply . Somewhere with activities close by look along the tissington trail in Derbyshire or Matlock Bath, Buxton area. Newtown Powys, These places are normally cheaper for long term toureres too.

Does your church not have contacts with other churches in Devon?
It may be that there are congregation members in Devon who could help.
