How long to repair?

I'm asking this on behalf on a friend:

She bought a fridge in November from Sainsburys Online, and it has stopped working. She contacted them, and they won't even send someone to look at it until 11th April. Is this within 'reasonable' limits, or are they supposed to sort something out more quickly?

    11 days seems a little excessive, although there is the Easter period during that. One thing that would swing it for me...when the engineer comes on 11th April, is it just for an inspection or will he be carrying the parts?

    That said, for a fridge, I would have hoped for a bit quicker - next week would be easier. Has she tried calling the manufacturer to see if their engineers can get there earlier?

    (1)If section 48A above applies, the buyer may require the seller—
    (a)to repair the goods, or
    (b)to replace the goods.
    (2)If the buyer requires the seller to repair or replace the goods, the seller must—
    (a)repair or, as the case may be, replace the goods within a reasonable time but without causing significant inconvenience to the buyer;
    (b)bear any necessary costs incurred in doing so (including in particular the cost of any labour, materials or postage).

    I would say two weeks was well beyond resaonable and convenient.

    I wouldn't have thought so. I would imagine the amount of actual days to the consumer is what is important.
