The gas supplier will chase your wife for the debt when they realise you are bankrupt and there's no point in chasing you.
Your wife - not you - should pay the debt.0 -
We had a similar situation with our joint overdraft, it was included in m BR but my OH was still responsible for it and so it had to be paid back.0

Hi there
i declare br. 3 weeks ago,i only have a cash minder card/account,i can't use it every where, is it ok to apply for a credit card now ,(also i could start build my credit rating in this way),or do i have to wait till i get discharged0 -
Dear Sam 222, Ive never been bankrupt but I know from reading lots of posts on here that there is absolutely NO POINT in applying for a credit card 3 weeks after youve gone bankrupt, people with more knowledge and who have been in your position financially will be able to advise you more. When you say you cant use your cashminder card everywhere? I take it you have a debit card? with your account?surely you can just use that or cash as needed for things, without wanting to rack up extra debt ( which you cant have anyway!!:money:). Anyway , hope some more advice will be along soon:j0

The problem is the cash minder debit card can't be used anywhere there isn't a live connection - so for example, you can't buy anything on a train with a debit card - not tickets, not buffet grub. nothing
I found that out at my misfortune yesterday when returning from a visit the other end of the country and had no cash but there was money in my account.
They have a significant inconvenience in this respect0 -
how many card points have no live connection though? Apart from moving transport I can't think of too many others!
If card is too much trouble just take cash out and pay the bill in the post office? :beer:0
