How much luggage

I am taking a 7 day holiday with my family of 4, our airline (RyanAir) charges £50 each for luggage, is it possible to travel with less luggage?

Yes. You only need maybe two suitcases in the hold OR each of you have your hand luggage allowance and NO hold luggage. It can be done.

Lay out everything you WANT to take on the bed, look at it and really think do I NEED it?

Actually plan what you are going to wear each day and make sure everything can be mixed and matched. Be ruthless.

Then, when you pack spread the clothes between suitcases/ hand luggage in case a case goes AWOL.

    Have a good holiday.

I'd say take one hold case (for all your bargain sun lotions etc, as they are generally cheaper here if you plan ahead and look for the bargains on them, rather than having to pay resort prices once you get there). Then with your hand luggage limit x4, you should have plenty of room for everything you need for a weeks holiday.
