Where to Report a Bad Builder

Does anyone know where and how to report a builder who says his work is guaranteed when it isn't. Barfield Builders in Bramford, Ipswich built a large extension at our home which we have had several problems with including leaking roof and heating system that doesn't work. Despite numerous calls and letters to him and a court case, we still don't have back the £5,000 we have had to spend putting this right. We have a CCJ against them but this has got us nowhere. Wondering where to go from here?

if they are still in business then get the bailiffs or solicitor to enforce your judgement.
If they are not still in business then reporting them isn't going to do any good0 -
If you have been watching "The Sheriffs are Coming" on BBC1, you will know that you can get a CCJ enforced by the issue of a High Court Writ at a cost of only £60. The person owing the money is charged the costs of the Sheriffs.
Very interesting series. They seem to have a few more powers than Bailiffs. Provided the builders are still in business they would have no trouble getting all or most of your money back. I suggest that you watch this series on iPlayer.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
report them to trading standards, if they get enough complaints they can act, are they members of any trade associations if so report them to those as well, maybe a letter to your local paper as well, don't be bitter in any letters or phone calls stick to the facts & that you are not at all happy, best of luck.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
as above. but only if they are still in business.
if they are not, then stop wasting yer money chasing the debt.Get some gorm.0 -
I'd say that posting what you have has already cost these builders much more than they owe you!

So if there are any assets still to collect (unlikely), get the bailiffs in before they go under. No free lunch, and no free laptop
