Daily Thread Sunday 25th March 2012

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 25th March. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all! Computer clock is telling me that its almost 7am - but when I collapsed in bed last night I forgot to turn the clocks forward. Someone should have told my body clock though as I still woke up at the normal time! Have hung the washing out and enjoyed my first coffee.
Today the whole family need to tidy the house and garden up - the boys were playing in the garden yesterday which now looks  and aside from keeping up with the washing I've not done much in the house. So loads to do today. Managed to convince OH that we should stay here as eldest son who has SEN is settled here, so that means I can start to get rid of some furniture that just doesn't fit our needs - rather than keeping it because we like it. Trust me I've tried to squeeze it in!!
Anyway - everyone have a lovely day (and on the request of DS1)!!2014 will be all about ME!

Good morning esmf73 and to all who follow.
It's a bit misty here at the moment but i think we are due another good day.
Spent about 5 hours over the allotment yesterday, digging and weeding etc. Got more to do today.Time goes so quickly when we are over there.
Girls are being dropped off in town this morning, we don't have a bus service through here on a Sunday. Hubby and i will then watch f1, everything just stops for that :rotfl:. Girls will then be picked up. Dinner, which is chicken, potatoes and veg. Back over the allotment, hopefully get some planting done. Have no idea when i am going to fit in the ironing. I have quite a bit to do but may just have to do the essentials.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning everyone
Completely forgot about losing the hour. Wish we could stop this malarky......be interesting to see what time DS drops off tonight.
Another pottering day I think today, more ironing, garden needs a tidy after the patio slabs H was laying yesterday.
It's my dads 65th birthday today and everyone is coming round here for a buffet meal this afternoon, I've got to make HM wedges and pizza.
Weather looks like a nice one again. Ok need to down this coffee and take Luna for her walk.....she's whinging :rotfl:
Hugs and spoons all round xxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife Louise BrooksAll will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -

ds had a brilliant day yesterday. his ear wasnt too bad and hasnt needed calpol since yesterday lunchtime so all good there. he was so well behaved and polite to everyone and everyone commented on it too. he just kept walking aorund to everyone kissing them and saying "thankyou for my present" :rotfl: it seems turning 3 means he is a grown up now  he was thoroughly spoilt as usual but he really did appricate everything. we were really proud last night of how he is turning out thanks for all his birthday wishes.
so today is clean up day. cannot see the living room at all  need to find homes for all his toys and i suspect a lot of old toys will be passed down to someone. he has a play house that needs putting up in the garden. hoping hubby will cut the grass today and make a start on my vegetable patch. i want to get stuck in to it but my back didnt like the all the walking i did on friday
lots of washing to do as well. havent done any for a few days which means it has piled up big time
i think it will be pork for dinner tonight. have been struggling to eat meat but it appears it is just chicken i can't stomach. it was the only meat i really ate pre-pregnancy and noe i eat everything but... pregnancy doesnt weird things to you!
butterfly brain ( i tihnk it was ) - hope you feel better soon
happy bday to your dad bitsy :bdaycake:

Morning all
Hubby's already watching the TV ready for the F1, he went to the Chiropodist yesterday & had his big toenail treated, he's had problems with it since a wheelbarrow fell on it 25 years ago & it's taken me the last 10 years to persuade him to seek treatment!
Todays plans include more washing, some ironing, making the Herman cake & some yogurt, someone loaned me their Easiyo as I like yougurt but find shop bought stuff too sweet.
We have brisket for lunch with roast pots, spring greens, carrots & cauliflower & yorkies.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning everyone,
It is much sunnier than yesterday, the fog has already gone this morning.
We were up early as DD1 and her German friend have gone off to Alton Towers for the day, I am sure that they will have a great time.
No netball this morning so DD2 and I are lazing around in our pyjamas for an hour before I have to take DS for a ju jitsu grading.
Hugs for Sunflower Molly and LW and for anyone else who would like one!
Lou I hope that you and your DS are feeling better. Glad he had a good birthday.
Esmf Is your DS fond of beer or does he just like the smiley? Here is one for him!
Bitsy Any news on the conservatory problems? and Happy Birthday to your Dad.
BB Hope that you feel better soon.
We had a pair of ducks in our garden yesterday, they looked so strange amongst the sparrows and pigeons and really made me smile.
Tea tonight is roast chicken and blackberry and apple crumble made with the last of the blackberries that I gathered last summer.
Right, I am off to drink more tea.:D
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -

Darned missing hour! Not sure what time it really is or what time my body thinks it is!
Up bright and early anyway, making pancakes to take to Edinburgh for DS2 and flatmates (they will last about 10 mins).
No OS to speak of as I am off out for the day and did all chores yesterday, quite a good feeling.
Happy Birthday to Bitsy's Dad.
Take care. XX0
