Please help bank charges

Hi 1st post and a newbie, im currently receiving jsa, and have been charged nearly 80 on bank charges, im only 24 so only get about 53 pound a week i think it is, i wrote a letter to natwest stating this and there reply was im not getting a penny back to cut a long story short.. im left with around 30 pound to last me 2 weeks, and its not going to last any chance i can claim these back? now as i dont have enough money in my account a direct debit came out for 4.95 and now they have charged me again 36 pound.. i read that it is illegal to take charges from jsa.. please can anyone help because im at wits end with this..
