Post-bankruptcy question

Hi all,

I was made bankrupt about 4 years ago and the bright young age of 22, as I stupidly took on my girlfriends debt to help her out, then she eventually broke up with me leaving me with it all

I filed for bankruptcy and have been discharged about 3 years now, and have managed to remain debt free and start a new life at university :D

As I was so young at the time I never really grasped the concept of what I was doing and still have a few questions if someone would be so kind as to provide me with answers?

I was advised that after 6 years the bankruptcy is wiped from my credit file. Does this mean banks/building societies will never know of my history? And what happens to my credit score after the 6 years, does it go back to zero?

Sorry for the silly questions but I am clueless.

Many thanks in advance

Conner
