Bankruptcy and Legal Aid

My daughter has been receiving Legal Aid to fight her divorce case. She may now have to go bankrupt. Bankruptcy will get rid of most unsecured debts, but will it get rid of the Legal Aid debt.

Legal Aid will cease due to the bankruptcy and if I read Insolvency Direct correctly then the Legal Aid bill up to that point will fall within the bankruptcy & disappear.0

Thanks !!!!!!.
My daughter actually consulted an insolvency practioner and they didn't know the answer to this. They looked things up and made a few phone calls and came to the conclusion that she would probably still be liable for the Legal Aid debt.
I wasn't convinced and hence my posting.
How can I find out for absolute certainty as this could have a significant affect on her decision as to whether or not to go bankrupt.0 -
It's worrying that I found my info from the Insolvency Practitioners technical manual yet your IP can not find the answer! I understood that this was their bible and if they don't understand it, should they be doing that job.
It seemed pretty clear to me0 -

Do you mean the Insolvency service Technical ManualHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
Please note that any views i put forth are not those of my former employer The Insolvency Service and do not constitute professional advice, you should always seek professional advice before entering insolvency proceedings.0 -
The Insolvency Service Technical Manual is provided for use by Official Receivers rather than Insolvency Practitioners, they would seek their own sources of informationHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
