Which Vax to choose?

We're in the middle of building work and my carpets (and my sanity) have suffered! Was going to hire a carpet cleaner, but see various mentions of Vax on this site. Have just gone on to Amazon to see what there is and if they're any good and there are loads of different models, with some saying how wonderful they are and some saying the same model is rubbish! Could anyone with a good one recommend, please? I need one that really cleans deep, as it is mainly plaster dust rather than stains and need one with attachments for stairs. Vax VO27 looks best, but is very dear and I really shouldn't be spending too much just now. Many thanks!

hire a professional one from HSS. much better and easier to use.

If you do decide to buy one, it might be worth looking at https://www.goshopdirect.co.uk for Vax, and https://www.bissel-secure.co.uk for the opposition. No doubt they each have their champions, but I imagine they are much the same, really. One tip, though, I have seen it said on these forums that you should use much less than the recommended amount of detergent, as it tends to leave a sticky residue, and in fact most of the cleaning is done by the warm water anyway. I can't speak from experience, but it sounds like common sense. If you do buy one, you can always do it again several times, at your convenience, but I suppose that the commercial ones will be better.0

You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0
