Help!! Waterproof ink stain

Help!! My OH has red ink stains from a waterproof ink filled uni-ball pen :eek::eek:
It's on his best beige jacket  which is made from 100% cotton.
So far I have tried Vanish spray, then washed it, (no joy) and now I've sprayed it with hair spray (from a tip I found online). It hasn't shifted at all.
The jacket is still damp from the wash.
Any ideas??

I have a book on the uses of vinegar. For ink it suggests
Wet with some white distilled vinegar and then rub in a paste of 2parts vinegar to 3 parts cornflower. Leave to dry then wash as normal
For any really bad stains eg cola hair dye ketchup on washable cotton it suggests adding up to a pint of vinegar to the wash cycle
However I have to say I have not tried this so I cant say whether it works or whether its safe to try on this particular garment, so its up to you.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

I read a tip online that hand sanitiser would remove ink stains. Not tried it yet so can`t comment on how well it works.0

I have tried the hand sanitiser but it doesn't shift, I think the problem is that it is waterproof ink. I'll try the vinegar and cornflour now.
Thanks for the ideas.0 -

Thanks for that, I have read through it and may have to buy a Stain Devil if the vinegar doesn't work. It's in the machine at the moment......0
