Buying a car(or not!)

Went to buy a car. PX with mine and small depos it, then finance from the dealer. Left £500 but changed my mind and told them I didn't want it. They want to keep £285 for "admin charges". Can they do this? They also refused to credit my money back to my card and said I had to return on Monday to get it. Advice needed please.:(

You will suffer some loss to cover their time and other expenses incurred, £285 though does seems exceptionally high.

Then get back on the phone to them, tell them to either deduct a fair and proportionate amount. Failing that, might be worth discussing it with the CC company to see if they can help.0 -
