Are legal debts wiped out in BR?

Hi Guys, My partner had a horrible legal case brought against him a while ago of which basically he ended up getting screwed over by his solicitors, they are now using quite horrific tactics and after offering them a reasonable settlement which they rejected he has decided his only option is BR. They replied saying that if he goes BR they will have to take further action and that they will require a full explaination as to why they havent been paid. So my question is are legal debts wiped out in BR? and what else can they possibly do? Obvisouly we are really worried / concerned about this. Many thanks in advance for any help / advice.

Hi,
If we are talking about solicitors fees for their services that you have been billed for, then yes, they would be included within BR.

Thankyou so much, they are being very threatening so will go to the legal ombudsman tomorrow but just wanted to check as obviously BR was the last case scenario which we havent taken lightly. Many thanks again.

No problem. The case brought against him didn't involve a claim for personal injury did it?

No, it was an interlectual property issue.

Good thats fine, but make sure that (and i'm fairly sure it already has been) that the 'claimed loss' from the other side has been quantified / demanded / claimed before BR.

Also take some advice on whether BR is not in any way damaging due to income, ssets, etc.
