Refurbished Kenwood Chef, anyone ?

Am thinking of a kenwood chef as they do eveything and my hands are getting increasingly sore with arthritis. I want an old mechanical one not a new electronic one. Seen lots on e bay but it is a lot to pay if it ends up broken in a years time. So I thought it might be a good option to go for one of those rebuilt ones. Has anyone else done this ? I would love to know. You probably don't remember me. Not been around for a while. Been ill for a couple of years but lots better now, and retired too ! Loving it. Have been happy to lurk and enjoyed everyones company. Thank you very much in advance. Really hope someone can help with the question.:)

I got one from a car boot sale. It's utterly brilliant and has been going ages whilst my friends' have broken and been thrown out (the modern ones). It's car boot season now and I always see loads for about £2MAY THE ODDS BE EVER IN YOUR FAVOUR0

I would love one, they are all out of my price range. I can't seem to get lucky by finding one at car boots.0 -
Amzed that you can get them so cheap. Need to find out about local car boot sales. Never been to one. Do you have to get up really early ? I guess it would be well worth it !0

Hi
I bought a recon one from ebay about 18months ago, it's used everyday for breadmaking etc. - LOVE IT!!0 -
I inherited my Mum's old kenwood chef and it's fab! Never been refurbished so fingers crossed it lasts for a while! I have the liquidiser on top and that was such a blessing when my old processer died (while I was making soup) so I would say yes go for it!
Glad to hear you are feeling better now! and welcome back to old style! Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

I am not sure that I know what a mechanical Kenwood is. I thought all the old Chefs are electric. Could someone enlighten me please?Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

What I meant was electric but NOT electronic as in the brand new designs. Sorry for confusing everyone, I got my words wrong. Thank you everyone for your replies. In the end I talked to DH about it. He said go ahead and get one as cheap as you can on e bay. He says he is quite happy to sort out any problems. What a lovely man. So I bought one for 20 quid on e bay yesterday. Going to pick up my lovely 901 on Friday. Can't wait. Now looking out for attachments ! It is lovely to be back.0

hi, I have been given a vintage kenwood chef with a glass bowl no less. Its not been used that much in its 30-40+ years, trouble is I dont find it terribly powerful, and wondered whether anyone had any experience of getting a chef refurbished.0
