OS Daily Saturday 10th March

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 10th March 2012. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all - well OH is back for the weekend - woken up by his snoring in the weeee small hours :( still I'll trade it for when he makes me tea! If the weather holds today I'll be washing, clearing out the car and OH will be chopping more wood for the fire! After having spent almost £300 on elec & gas in 2 months I've turned the heating off and we're relying on the fire to keep us warm - well we have loads of wood that needs chopping!

Tea tonight will be something to use up the leftovers!

Hope everyone has a good day - have a hug if you need one x

Morning esmf, sistercas and all who follow,

Hugs to LW, Molly, Charbird and anyone else who needs or wants one.

Tru so sorry to hear about piggy.

    Where are you Bargainbird?

Candy hope that your aunt is more comfortable today.

Well, even though the sun is not shining here it is quite bright and looks really springlike with all the daffodils coming out in the garden.

Up early as DD2 has a netball tournament this morning, the first of 2 this weekend. I really enjoy going to watch her and her friends play and I am especially pleased that she is playing tomorrow as the coach said that she was choosing her strongest team for that match and DD2 has been a bit unsure about how well she is playing at the moment.

DS comes back from Paris this evening, I am assuming that he will be exhausted but hungry as the schedule was packed while they were away.

Tea tonight is HM lasagne as it will keep for whatever time DS gets back. His rugby match tomorrow has been cancelled so he hasn't got to get up early to go to Chesterfield, at least he can have a bit of a lie in before training.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning all
    I'm here EG
Hope everyone is ok, RL has been interrupting my online life lately, lol.
MIL & BIL may be visiting tomorrow, meh! I used to get on well with them all, but things are a little strained since the wedding, oh well, it was the wedding we wanted, but maybe I shouldn't have chosen to tell FIL he was being a PITA when he tried to ruin it.
Plans for today include, housework for me & gardening for hubby.
Breakfast will be bacon, eggs & HG mushrooms, yummy
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Hubby is a at work and the girls are still in bed. Enjoying the peace :).
Will plant some more seeds in the greenhouse later.
    Tea tonight is chicken curry.
Moorhen, good luck to dd for the netball tournament. Sounds like you have a busy weekend.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

    Morning all,

Hugs to LW, Molly, Tru and Charbird and anyone else who would like one.

A big thank you to everyone for all the positive vibes for Molly cat. She has been for another blood test and, depending on the result of that, will probably need a bone marrow biopsy. It's difficult at the mo, as don't want to put her through nasty treatment if it's not going to make much difference and to be honest the cost is worrying me as she's not insured. It is also worrying for our other cat, Dibble, as it's contageous through stratches so she'll have to be tested too. Don't know what to do for the best. Sorry to moan but I love my Mol. :(

Coming off nights doesn't help either, makes my mind fuzzy after 2 x15 hour shifts. Need some sleep and some nice weather so I can take it out on the weeds in the garden :o

Have a good day all, will try to pop back later.

    Jan x

Morning all. One of the cats has i think caught a mouse in the house. Not sure wheher to be pleased or annoyed. Thought we'd sealed all potential mouse holes. I'd really rather they lived outside than became morbid playthings for the cats. Of course may have been a piece of string hanging from his mouth in which case OH will laugh at me :p
    Day's plans are:
breakfast (like yours HH but SM mushrooms) :T
Bath (onto last bath bomb from christmas, will cut in two)
Hair at 10:30 (hairdresser does amazing deal - you pay an annual sub for £20 then a wash, colour and cut is £20)
Library (reading my way through the camilleri
    Lunch and writing shopping list
    Weekly Lidl shop
Marking then supper, a nice film then zzzzzzz
