Best keyboard for touch typing (F J key ridges)

I can touch type although don't do so often but I need to do some at present. Thing is my Dell keyboard has almost infinitesmal ridges on the F and J keys (used to locate on the keyboard when touch typing) plus the ridges are right on the very outer edge of the keys.

I have small fingers, so when I touch the keys with my fingertips my fingers do not even reach the ridges to feel them. (in fact my OH, even with much larger fingers said he could not feel the F and J ridges on my keyboard, they are so slight).

I have tried searching on best keyboards for touch typing but not come up with much. Anyone got a keyboard they can recommend?

Best advice is for you to go to PC (RipOff) World and test them out, rather than anyone on here suggesting x when y may be better suited, etc

I personally prefer Logitech to Microsoft, but do have a play

Actually I purchased an old Del keyboard because it had a nice 'clicky' feel and great ridges, but I guess it comes down to the user.

As a touch typist myself, I've used tons of keyboards and tbh, the pits on the home keys don't really make much difference. You pretty quickly work out you don't have your fingers in the right place when the wrong characters appear in front of your eyes, so just go for one with a nice positive action you feel comfortable with.

I use a Dell QuietKey PS2 Keyboard. Nice ridges on F and J and a dot on the 5 on the numeric keypad. Good action on the keys.

Much preferred the dell AT102W "clicky" keyboard before it got soaked in coffee :(. Similar ridges and dot.

The Apple keyboards are nice... but require some key re-mapping with software to match Windows computers. From around £30 for the super flat mini one - leaves more desk space too.

Microsoft 800 wireless keyboard has a ridged horizontal line along the centre of the bottom of the F, J & 5 keys. the line is about 7mm long.

I don't know if this helps, but my mum used to stick a small blob of Blu-Tack on the home keys... maybe a good money saving alternative?

But that's already included in Windows XP - sticky keys :)
