Reversed taps

I have two single pillar taps on a s/s sink and they work fine, but they work the opposite way to every other tap I have ever used. So when I go to turn them off, I end up putting them full on. Is this something the plumber has done or are they made that way?

Continental taps are often reversed to ours, so you may have got a contintal set!Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Thanks for this. the plumber doesn't dismantle the taps to install them so I guess it is internal to the taps.Je suis sabot...0

Or he could of just swapped them over & changed the colour coding around but hey that would be too technical......0

We have this as well , the taps on the laundry room sink turn turn the other way to all the other taps in the house. When the wife uses the sink she usually drowns herself as the cold is mains fed. I am not intending to change themYou scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0
