Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 29th February. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chatabout everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring andmotivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to dotoday or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) andjoin us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be awarethat many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help othersthat don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly butif not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you goto bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two dailythreads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each newdaily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you haveto though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all,

Had a terrible nights sleep, so lots of coffee needed today, and typically its my most busy time at work.

Meatballs for tea tonight, I made a doule batch last time and froze them, so just need to get them out of the freezer, so nice and easy.

Will do a wash tonight, and hang on the airers.

Hugs to all in need.

And Happy leap year (are you supposed to say that ??)

  • Morning RR and all who follow,

RR - hope today is nice and steady for you xx

Not sure about happy leap year but i suppose we could say HappyBirthday to those born today...how weird must that be....not having a birthday day every year....So enjoy your day if thats you.

Phew went of on one then.

Today, kids to school, need to collect a bike from freegle for DH and go to Lidl to skint it round. DD1 installement for her trip is due and Direct D's come out tomorrow so basically i've 50 for the weeks food :o. I'm sure i can rise to the challenge though.

Bumped Roast chicken y'day as my friend at school makes posh bread, so we had that and butter last night.

Tea tonight is Roast chicken (minimal meat on plates) carrot/swede, parsnips, roasties and a yorkshire.

    Take care all xx

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Dull, wet and cloudy here this morning, DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.

Another really busy day at work yesterday but not as bad as Monday - will have to see what today brings! Dinner last night was chicken goujons for the menfolk and mushroom omelette and salad for me. Remembered to get meat out to defrost, so dinner tonight will be stew and dumplings, have some LO cauli/broccolli cheese and yorkshires to go with it too. Will put the jam and buttercream into the sponge so that will be dessert if anyone wants it - have decided that when I batch bake at the end of the week if I make a sponge I won't put filling in straight away otherwise the menfolk just keep eating everything until there's nothing left - at least this way I still have something they can eat after Tuesday!

Only working today until lunchtime - then my paid working week is done, seems that the weeks are flying past can't believe it's 1 March tomorrow! DS1 has an exam tomorrow and Friday - not sure that he's really ready - but too late too worry about it now - just said do your best. Want to tackle the ironing, as have a few jobs to do over my days off this week - so need to try to keep on top of everything - heating engineer coming out Friday to (hopefully!) put new part in boiler so need to be here for them, so have done an on-line shop to be delivered Friday afternoon as have to take boys to DH's aunt's after school Friday as we're going away first thing Sat morning - really looking forward to it, it's a black tie dinner, good food, good company, good entertainment, stay in a hotel and some quality adult time! ;););)

Not much else going on here.

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

  • Good Morning All

Its a beautiful morning here, just had to drop DD at train station as her bus came early and she missed it

Not sure what is happening today, probably need to go out later to pick up a lorry so think will potter around the house and get the ironing done while I wait for the mechanics phone call.

Some of you would have seen from my facebook that it appears that someone has taken out a loan from Wonga with my details :eek:had to report it to the police and Wonga are now sorting. Checked my Credit Report and they hadn't even done a search - unbelievable.

Better get going, the washing pile is calling me :o. Have a great day and (((hugs))) wherever needed.x

I picked up a great bargain last night whilst doing shop for March - 18 cans of john smiths for £4.50, reduced down as 2 days left on shelf life. Wasn't on my shopping list admitedly but couldn't resist 18 cans at that price will last me till April lol!

Dundeedoll - sorry to hear about your card being scammed last month, mine got done a few years back and cleaned my account out! And to essex-girl hope wonga rectify it immediately!

Am off to cinema today using orange code to see The Woman in Black - have read book and seen it on West end so hoping film is good too!

    Morning everyone.

Need an IV of coffee or redbull or both. Had about 5 hours sleep thanks to kids and KC. Hey ho sleep is for wimps ;)

Nowt to report, still housebound due to building work.
Funny last night, they laid the concrete floor so via the back window there was me, DS and DD AND Luna all transfixed by the arrival and consequent smoothing out of wheelbarrows full of concrete :rotfl: Good job these blokes don't mind an audience :rotfl:

DD has made a request to make donuts so if I crack with other jobs first we can do these later.

Tea is a makeshift tonight as I am supposed to be going to tap class.

bargain bird £50 budget, you can do it :T

Essexgirl hope it all gets sorted asap xx

Jaxx good luck getting those forms completed xx

LW hope your poor shoulder is better xx

Hugs and spoons all round xxx

  • Morning aal!

A quick check-in from me. Porridge for brekkies with some apple and bluberries, cous cous for lunch and pasta for tea. Just pulled first meal out of freezer this morning, HM aubergine pasta sauce, wasn't that impressed with it last time we had it so thought I'd get it used up.

Trip to supermarket later as they apparently have catfood pouches at half price, the cats will think it's Christmas!

Managed to get up early to do the ironing so I can put my feet up tonight.

Hope you all have a lovely Feb 29th xxx
