wall papering chimney brest

Hello

We have just had installed a new fireplace and gas fire.

We are about to wallpaper the chimney brest, the brest seems to get quite hot so the old wallpaper where the join was is starting to split is there anything we can do to prevent this happening when we re paper the chimney brest.

Any help would be appreciated.

mix the paste thicker, as for vinyl paper. put plenty on the paper esp the edges. most peeps dont put enough paste on the wallpaper edges.
let it dry completely before lighting the fire.
if it happens again, then restick with some stronger glue such as evostick along the edges.
