AEG-Electrolux washing machine 5 yr guarantee offer

Our washing machine has packed up and I was going to buy a JL one for £499 ( JLWM1603) as it did all the things I wanted and had a 3 year guarantee. We can't afford a Bosch or Miele so thought the next best thing would be to go for whatever has the longest guarantee (as long as it does all the right things to the wash.) There are so many to choose from that it is very difficult. BUT when I got to JL I discovered that their machines are made by AEG-Electrolux, and on display they had an AEG-Electrolux model which does all the same things, priced at £479.00. NOW for another £70 (total £569) I could have bought extra years on the guarantee on the JL machine, so it had a 5 year guarantee, BUT AEG-Electrolux are currently offering a free 'upgrade' of their guarantee from 3 to 5 years. So I have now paid £479.00 for the AEG machine and will have a 5 year guarantee, instead of £569.00 for the same thing wth the JL machine. I feel as if I have been clever - lets hope so when they deliver it tomorrow ! This extension of the grarantee is a short term thing apparently, offered by the manufacturers, not by JL. seems worth looking at if you're after a new machine !
