Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 27th February. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chatabout everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring andmotivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to dotoday or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) andjoin us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be awarethat many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help othersthat don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly butif not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you goto bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two dailythreads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each newdaily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you haveto though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
Off to work soon, hubby's still in bed as he's on lates today.
I've been up since 5:30 reading my Kindle, High Five by Janet Evanovitch, I'm going to the cinema this week to see One for the Money, the film of her 1st book.
No cooking for me this week as hubby doesn't want to eat when he gets in after 10 & I will have a slice of pizza, or jacket potato or egg on toast.
Nice to see you posting Smokey.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

  • Morning Hester, Jackie & all to follow.

Damp here too but that wont affect me much as having an office day to day. Head still full of cold :(. Also waiting today for a phonecall to arrange the next interview of my p/t job.

Have done the menu plan for the week and its sausages and mash tonight.

Nothing much to report, think the weather is meant to be good again this week so will try and get out in the garden at some point. Motivation levels are at an all time low at the moment though - hopefully will improve when this cold goes.

Hope you have a good day, (((hugs))) to anyone who needs one.x
  • Good morning Hester, JackieO and all who follow.
It's very still outside this morning, feels very mild.
Leaving for work shortly. Still got the lunches to do. I'm having a bit of a lazy morning so far!
Dinner tonight will be curry. I've got some turkey (left over from Christmas) which i'll use.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning all!!! School today - yipee - and DS1 is on a theatre trip (just to have a look around, not to see anything) so in a moment I'll get them dressed. Today I've a bit of tidying up to do - trying to keep it show house suitable!!! Then its putting away clothes and making something for the boys to munch on when they come home from school.

Tea will be something from the freezer! Hugs to all x

    Good Morning x
Very dull and drizzly here today too.
I spent yesterday filling in the dreaded forms so my benefits will continue. I feel both depressed and demoralised as i'taint pretty writing down all you can't do:mad::mad::mad:
Actually it was an awful day as my eldest son and his girlfriend lost a baby - early miscarriage. It wasnt planned but they were both very upset - My son was gutted and he lay on my bed having a cuddle which is something he has not done for a very long time.

Anyway today will see me trying to regain some order in my chaotic house. I have made a start and bagged up (3 bin bags worth) the shoe mountain by the front door. I also need to ensure the house it tidy for my cleaner:o

Hugs for a good day my OS friends xx

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

Morning everyone, leaving for work in a few minutes, then a lecture, then revising for tomorrow's exam with my friend. I feel like my head is about to explode with stress, still 100000 things to do by the end of this week and then two exams and 100000 more things to do next week. I'm getting very fed up of work as the crazy drug dealing woman(i don't know why management get in a huff if people check facebook during work hours but she can look up how to grow and make drugs??!!) who has been made our "leader" is picking on people again, including me, I will be writing down everything she says to me and complaining if it gets too bad.
Hopefully I will have time to pick up some veg from market on my way to uni from work as I want to make soup tonight, if not it will be carrot and ginger. ((hugs)) everyone, have a good day xx

    Morning...chilly but dry morning here.
Already been up and had some breakfast, made son some too as daughter had woke him up.
Me and her had an arguement as shes lost her cashcard so wouldn't beable to get her bus money out of the bank , funny that they always put the blame on someone else.
So this morning i will be mostly looking for her card and if i can't find it, will then have to ring the bank to cancel it.
Dinner is an easy one today as hubby has got a late finish at uni, so he;ll have beans on toast and the kids will have a tomato pasta.

    Morning all

Stew is in the slow cooker and looks like that was a good idea now, weather is not so lovely today.

Interesting evening last night, went to put the bins out and was greeted by 3 rather handsome policemen! Neighbours have had a domestic (again!) and there was smashed glass everywhere! Looked out this morning and there is still debris all over the place, as we've no driveways and we live on station road, this is not the safest senario for children and dogs walking, hopefully it gets fully cleaned up soon. I think they may be given their notice after this time.

The plan for me today, is work, drop a cheque into the bank, clean the house this evening and relax! I've been nominated by OH to drive to Northumberland on the weekend!! Luckily my sister lives in Leeds, so will get to Leeds on Friday, stop over, go to the Northumberland and back to Leeds Saturday and head home Sunday. Good job I really enjoy long drives on my own!!

    Hope everyone is well

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Dull and cloudy here this morning, but breezy so have put washing on the line, not sure whether it will get even wetter or dry! DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.

Had a pleasant day yesterday saw lots of people we haven't seen for a while, so nice to catch up. Did a large cooked breakfast/brunch before we went out and then we just had toast and cheese etc (I just had fruit and yoghurt) when we got back. Dinner tonight will be smoked sausage and mushrooms with pasta and creme fraiche, yummy.

Monday always seems to roll round so quickly - wish my work days would do the same!

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x
