I don't know if it is possible to receive a card other than through the post. Even if you could...
A prepaid "credit" card is not a credit card and does not offer the protection for your money offered by a credit card.
If you get a card the chances are that there will be an initial fee, fees for adding cash to it in store, fees when you spend with it. etc. etc.
Without identity checks the maximum single transaction allowed would be £650.
I would avoid if possible.
Is there not a trustworthy person with a credit card who could be relied on to keep quiet and not rob you who would take your cash and pay for the booking for you?0 -
bummer a need one i can get there and then0

Why woud you require one that doesn't need ID to open it?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Could you switch your credit card account to online billing, so there's no paper copy in the post for your wife to discover?
However, you're going to have to tell your her about the holiday at some point before you go: she'll want to pack.
Is using a prepaid card and forgoing Section 75 protection worth it?0 -
If my wife opened post addressed to me I'd be most angry. Luckily, she doesn't.
I'd probably put it on my CC and then leave it around somewhere, wanting her to read it.0
