At last, some good news if you're an RTE watcher and live in the north

Only if you have Freeview HD capable tv or box!0
-
Also note, this is only intended to serve central areas where reception from across the border is not possible, It will transmit on much lower power then the main 6 muxes, does not include TV3, E3 etc, etc and also, some content such as sports will be blocked out on this mux for legal (copyright) reasons, just like on Sky. Still best to pick up RTE from across the border if possible.0

And the signal from across the border will be switching from analogue to the same type of signal above soon too, ie you'll need a FreeviewHD box, rather than FreeviewSD.0

eire analogue switch off is 24th October 20120

If it does as it claims, you should be able to however if it was built specifically for ROI market, it may be Mpeg4 capable which will bring in RTE but may only be DVB-T and not DVT-T2 capable which will then mean it won't bring in UK HD freeview. SD freeview will be fine though.
It's a bit of a mess at the moment as ROI uses Mpeg4 over DVB-T whereas UK freeview HD uses Mpeg4 over DVB-T2. UK standard def still used Mpeg2 over DVB-T. Confused? You're not alone..0
