faulty freezer

i have just purchased a new kitchen and the intergrated freezer i bought with the kitchen is broken i have only had it running for 2days before it broke i phoned the company who sold me the kitchen and appliance and they told me i had to get in touch with tecnik this was last wednesday an engineer has been out this morning and says it needs repaired but i have asked for a replacement as it is a new machine he says its not his responsablity to get a replacement it is up to the kitchen company
who is responsable as they keep passing the blame and no one will give me a new appliance

That sounds really annoying, but I do not see why you do not allow the engineer to fix it. Yes, it was new, and turned out to be faulty. but the fault could have occurred at any time as a part was obviously faulty and due to fail. I had the same thing happen to my fridge freezer. They came out and repaired it and it has worked perfectly ever since.budget meals can be good meals0

I am no expert but as the unit has only worked for 2 days from new, I would think that under the sale of goods act it is not fit for the purpose that is was bought for, and you are entitled to a replacement unit, if it had worked for a longer period then maybe a repair would be acceptable.
Your contract is with the company that supplied the goods not the manufacturer, they should replace the unit, also I would think that as it is brand new it is their responsibilty to be dealing with the manufactures service people not you.0
