Reducing Credit Card Debt

My wife and myself currently have 2 outstanding credit card balances. We have cancelled the cards (one with RBS the other with Barclaycard) and have made arrangements to clear the balances.

Whilst BC has agreed to suspend interest and accept a reduced payment (£50pm), meaning we are only paying the capital. RBS has agreed a reduced payment (£65pm) but is still charging interest on what should be the full minimum payment (£130pm).

So when I pay the £65 each month they charge £55 in interest meaning I'm trying to reduce a c£4k balance at £10pm.

We have written on numerous occasions to RBS asking them to suspend interest but each time they say no.

Any help.ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Clydeman
