Completing the forms...scared!

Hi Guys,
So I have the BR forms in my hands...they look scary from here!
A few of questions:
Should I be seeking any kind of legal advice on completing them?
I'm not a great form filler so wondering how long people usually spend on them?
Is there any general advice on their completion, or anything to specifically watch out for?
Thanks.

Legal advice isn't needed. CAB might help, but most people here just post for help on anything they get stuck on. Between us we can deal with most queries.

Hi BreathEasy,
This extract is from Fermi's sticky at the top of the BR board and helped me a lot:

If you can, print them out and keep them to hand, but the first thing to do is to read through your forms once or twice - they seem a lot worse than they actually are
Each of us had our own way I think, I skim-filled mine and gathered what I needed for reference whilst I did so, then went back and filled it in in chunks, some like to do it fully so that they don't forget anything.
The CAB checked mine over before I went to court but thanks to all the help on this forum there was v. v. little to amend
Don't let them panic you and ask all the questions you need to.
Good luck0 -
I would say for a piece of advice, that filling in the form should come last, eg the debt section, i would get all your letters together perhaps with your credit reports, sort them out, see if any have been passed to debt collectors, pick out all the latest correspondence with the latest debt amount, latest reference and latest address, so you have one for each debt and only then fill in the actual form.Hi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
Please note that any views i put forth are not those of my former employer The Insolvency Service and do not constitute professional advice, you should always seek professional advice before entering insolvency proceedings.0 -
Thanks people, really appreciate all the help and encouragement!0

unless your case is a very complicated one then the forms are really not that bad, remember you need 3 copies,my advice is just do a little a day and before you know it they will be done,I would also say do not leave out any info you need to fill in and think you will go back to it later, stop and get the info then carry on or you will be for ever flipping back and forward and also may leave something out, also for account numbers and balances,if you have them then great but a best guess on the balance was all I put as I didn't fancy ringing up and asking,as long as you fill in the info as best as you can then it should be fine,in most cases the OR can follow up and get any final balance etc they may want.0
