What type of RAM?
Sdram or DDR?
Have you ever installed and used your USB memmory stick?
If not, because USB memmory was no around when Win98 was released there is no support for it from a normal install.
What is the make/model of your USB stick?£2 savers club = £83.500 -
have installed the drivers as per the instuctions on the box but not able to use it.
its a Integral courier USB2.0 flash drive 128mb
dont know about the memory, will have to get a big hammer and check the gubbins of the comp ;-)
and i luv the post about it being destructed.... lol ;-)

Why not try the USB pen drive on another computer, preferably one with a version of Windows that supports USB (e.g. Windows XP)? That way, at least you will see if the pen drive hardware is OK.0

With RAM it pays not to go for the cheapest. I'd suggest using http://www.crucial.com/uk The prices are very good if not the cheapest, but the quality is very good and the service excellant.0

this is a have you plugged it in type of answer but have you used the USB connection on your PC for anything ie do you know its working?
Many Win98 PCs had USB disabled in BIOS
If you have aworking USB printer then ignore thisTANSTAAFL !0 -

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself after I spotted your error LOL!
I'm just glad you didn't take any offence though, as I definitely didn't intend any, but my sense of humour runs away with me sometimes! I was in absolute stitches after I posted ... I reckon my son thinks I've lost the plot completely"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

I did have a chuckle... and i love the little man at the bottom....
i also had to buy a new printer this week as the other one destructed itself, well... it didnt respond to the full force of my flip flop well... and im afraid it is now deceased, it is no more... it has gone... it has ceased to exist.....
hence the word destruct... as i seem to be having a week of it!
glad u all had a giggle ;-)
