dmp. early days but feeling positive.

Just wanted to touch base with you very helpful people and say that, although I have just got the ball rolling with my dmp, im already feeling so much better about my situation, and i'm positive about kicking this debt problem. I'm so thankful to the cccs and would recommend them to anyone.
I already feel less stressed, and My relationship with my wife has already improved, as we have done this together and we now know exactly where we stand financially.
I'm not getting over excited as letters to creditors, and dmp application have just been posted, however i feel that im doing the right thing.
Can anyone please give me a heads up as to what i should expect in regards to letters from creditors? (just so i can prepare myself for the worst.)
Once again thanks again everyone. this forum is great. talk to you all soon. (wish me luck.. eeeek);)

Jonesy sounds like a great start.

Just as a quick check did all the creditors accept the payment from Cscs, I'm the same as Emma but i have to admit having read some of the other threads on here so people have struggled with the creditors accepting the DMP plan

Well done Jonesy, it is a wonderful feeling to know that you're back in control, isn't it?

I think a DMP takes a while to take shape and for all the creditors to play ball but it should all be ok in a few months

Good luck and keep us posted on your journey! xxx
Life is too short not to love what you do.
  • thanks everyone. camuk, as i said ive just posted the documents to cccs and have written to all my creditors, so as i said its still early days. Just keeping my fingers crossed that they all accept the dmp. I feel im prepared for anything tho as ive faced up to my debt and am determined to get better and managing my finances.

  • Jonesy, I can't help you but I can relate to your concerns and more importantly the feeling of releif.

I make my first payment to Payplan in a weeks time, so haven't even started but already I feel in control of my life.

Simply becuase I'm no longer lying to myself.

All the best, these forums really are a lifesaver, I'm sure you know already, but one simple letter can make so much difference, I got a letter back from Halifax today with almost £900 repayment for insurance I genuinly never realised I'd paid, check everything!

    Good Luck!
  • Places like CCCS aren't just helping people financially, they're helping people in other aspects such as relationships etc as you've demonstrated.

Well done on getting the ball rolling, that's the hardest part :)

  • hi

I am 3 months into my payplan dmp and all my creditors have accepted the payments and i hear nothing from them, it is a huge relief and has been really stress free, best thing i could have done. I can go online and check the payments and it is great. Only 5 years and i will be debt free but hopefully quicker if i can pay a bit more over the next few years xx:j
  • good to hear charlie. Just so happy i got in touch with them. Im on a debt free mission. thanks again everyone.

hi all, just about to make my third payment to the dmp and so far things have been running quite smoothly. (touch wood) I do have a few queries i would like to raise on the forum to see if anybody can relate or advise.! I currently get a basic wage and also work on commision, so the dmp has been set up on my basic wage and i have said i would make overpayments based on any commision made. In light of this the first 2 dmp payments have been the aranged amount due to no commision.! My main concern is, this month i have made some commision but due to the fact iam in the early stages of the dmp, i have not been able to save much money, and my car has broke down, resulting in a hefty repair bill. Should i be contacting the cccs to explain this or do i not need to worry as long as im making the agreed payment.
Thanks guys, a slightly skint this month, jonesy.
