HMRC sets 'new technology' on tradesmen, eBay sellers and even Avon ladies in latest

Just seen this on DM

"The taxman today signalled its intent to target the flourishing 'direct selling' industry, which includes everyone from Avon reps to those holding 'Jamie at Home' parties.

HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has used new technology to 'build a picture' of parts of the economy likely to have a high number of missing tax returns."

This faceless organisation seem to have unlimited funds to pursue lost causes. I wonder who pays for all this? Oh wait ...........
  • Frankly this article looks like an extended version of an old Fred Bassett cartoon. Fred looks at at a TV licence van and thinks "hmm I wonder how they work", his male owner comes into view, looks at the van in horror and then goes into a PO looking guilty while Fred thinks "ahh, that's how they work".
