Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
Cold here this morning, but not icy, but it will be icy at work as it is a lot higher there. We all spent 25 minutes standing in the car park on the snow yesterday as the fire alarm went off.
When I arrived yesterday the new software still wasn't working, no info or update to tell me what had happened. I spoke to my line manager, she told the head who phoned out IT expert who doesn't start work til 10, the IT expert arrived at work by 8:30! Everything was working by 12:30, it's only taken best part of 3 weeks!
Have a good day everyone.
Stay safe
Hugs Hester

Morning, Hester and all who follow. Another cold one here so hopefully it won't be icy out. Fretting a bit again about that. Ah well, we'll see. Just remembered I need to take something out of the freezer for tonight's tea or it'll be an omelette and I don't really think that'd go down well on a cold evening like we've been having! Hope everyone has a good day (((hugs))) to those in need.

    :DMorning all.

:bdaycake:Happy Birthday to the lovely JackieO :T hope you have a great day xxxx

Cold here again, but the mornings are getting so much brighter :T, dropping dd off to her placement this morning, she loved it yesterday, spent all day playing, feeding of cuddling babies, but boy was she tired last night, she said it really tired her out and the noise level !! :D, I think every young person should be made to work with children for a day, its not as easy as it looks, and would be a great form of birth control :D

This morning I have some washing to do, hoover through, tidy, then some office work, online shop, walk the dog, and try and see dad.

Dinner tonight is a lamb casserole will do some mash and veg with it, so need to prep that.

Sunflower, how are you today ??

    Have good days all xx

    Morning :hello:

    Happy Birthday JackieO :bdaycake: :D

I'm sorted for work. Yesterday I bought two pairs of trousers, one black and one navy. I had trouble finding a navy pair, they all seemed a bit light? Still, they'll have to do. I'll get my money back from work for those. New shoes too. My bike is like new :D It was serviced and had a couple of things replaced for £34, I expected it to be closer to £50 so was pleased.

I'll be sorting some things to sell on ebay today. Apart from that, I'll be doing nothing :D I've decided that as I'm starting work on friday, I deserve the next few days off, lol.

    Morning everyone,

We still have lots of snow lying but it began to melt yesterday and hopefully will continue today. Wore my trusty 26 year old Doc Martin boots to walk to work and it seems they are in fashion again from all the compliments that I got from the children!

I walked back to my house from the junior school that I visited in the afternoon and decided to investigate a path that I thought was a short cut. I got hopelessly lost and had to ask a passer by for directions.:o

I feel quite poorly today, I think I have the beginnings of a chest infection so I will decide tonight whether to go to ballet or not, if I can cope with a day at work I can cope with ballet!

Happy birthday JackieO, hope you have a great day and you gets lots of treats from your family.

Hugs to all in need, especially Bramble, LW, Lou, Molly and sunflower and anyone that I may have missed.

I cooked a whole chicken at the weekend and tonight we will be having meal number 1 from it, curry I think.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Still several inches of snow on the ground here but roads are mostly ok, it did thaw a bit yesterday and we did have some rain, hoping we didn't get a frost last night too otherwise the roads/paths will be awful. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Work yesterday was busy again, normally with those weather conditions we would be quiet but I just think it shows the current state of the country and the fact that we're understaffed etc! Yet again at 3.45pm we had a queue of customers back to the door from the reception desk - I was on reception and managed to sort everyone out - why do people not bother to do anything all day then arrive at the office 15 mins before closing and wonder why we then haven't got enough time to see them and deal properly with their enquiry?! Sorry that's my winge for the day!!

Dinner last night was egg, bacon, etc not particularly healthy but wanted something quick and easy. Tonight we'll be having macaroni cheese and chicken dippers, I'll probably just have the mac cheese. Must remember to get the meat out to defrost for tomorrow nights' casserole.

    Take it steady everyone x

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Sunflower - Please God they can do something for you. You sound so very brave and any wobbles or bad mood are very understandable xx
Flutterby - You have all my good wishes. Im struggling with another dizzie bout caused by a seemingly innocuous ride in a lift on Saturday:eek::eek:

I am having a pottering day interspersed with odd bits n' pieces. Another day confined to barracks but that's ok xx

    Hugs for a good day.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

    Morning,

I've been AWOL for a while, been busy with Eliza. She had a few problems (she got dehydeated and starving because my milk reduced) lucky after 3 days of being told her 6 hour feeds were a growth spurt I gave her formula, and I have a happy baby (who had 8oz in her first feed) and a happy mummy. I knew growth spurt manic feeding only lasted a day tops. Anyway because of formula she's gained weight and is back at her birth weight, although a little late :)

The HV said I'd done the right thing, especially since its now obvious I'd run low on milk. The dehydration was a big concern.

On the other hand now I have a happy baby, I am getting things done around the house. Today i have both school runs, 2 loaves to make and rolls. Washing, tidying and other bits and bobs.

Dinner is tuna fishcakes and chips.

Hope everyone has a good day x
