Hi
I am new to this and have carried out a budget planner and desperately want to get my debts etc under control as its all so stressful.
Trouble is there are little ways of saving money etc but what i need to know is when you have several credit card debts and are overdrawn, how do you ever get back in credit to start with to start paying off your other debts??
I just cant see a way out - i considered a loan so i could at least get my current bank account straight so i could then start to tackle the other debts or just consolidate everything credit cards and bank accounts - I just dont know where to start?
please help - any advice welcome

Firstly, have faith that you will be able to sort it out, one way or another. Hard to believe right now i know.
Somebody with far more knowledge will be along soon no doubt, but i can mention a few of the things i've picked up from reading this fab forum.
Do not take out more credit to fix it. I think the stat is 'only 15% of people who consolidate end up debt free'. With most of the other 85% ending up worse off i would guess.
Fill in a very accurate SOA at www.makingsenseofcards.co.uk and post it back on here. There's loads of really helpful people here who will help you work out where, if anywhere, you could save money.
And my personal peice of advice is read as much as you can on here. Other peoples stories, how they are managing and even how they became debt free in many cases. That is what has made me so determined, i want to be debt free too now, and we have to believe it can happen!
Good luck. Stick around, there's no better place for you right now.

If you find it difficult to budget whilst living within your overdraft then open a new basic bank account (unconnected to your creditors) and have your salary paid into the new account. Once you have done this you can treat your overdraft like any other debt and pay a certain amount into the account each month to gradually reduce the budget.2023 Mortgage-Free Wannabe #19: £11,675.68/£13,000
